Boutique Chic

I was walking through Cranbrook’s High Street on Saturday morning when I noticed that our local stockist, Swans Fashions, had changed its window and our über-chic Tara necklace was on display on a mannequin.

We started dealing with Swans last year (see especially Caradiaz in the High Street), shortly after our move down to Kent, and it has worked out beautifully. This small, yet elegant designer boutique caught my eye the first time I visited Cranbrook (some ten years ago now on a family trip) because it had everything I wanted in my wardrobe, especially Annette Görtz, whose clothes I simply adore.

So when years later I set up Caradiaz and we started doing wholesale, I was determined to approach Swans to get our jewellery in. There are quite a few fashion boutiques in Cranbrook – something surprising given the size of the town! – and they are all independently owned, which I think is great (no chains in our High Street, thank God!) so, although location-wise Swans perhaps wasn’t the best bet (it used to be in an alley off the High Street), their stock was just the perfect match for our jewellery.

A year down the line, Caradiaz and Swans are still happily working together and business has even taken a bit of a boost since the boutique moved into bigger, beautiful new premises bang on the High Street back in September this year.

So glad I made the right choice!
