Season after season, designers continue to show their fascination with exotic animal prints in their dresses (Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith), tops (DKNY, Giambattista Valli, Ralph Lauren, RM by Roland Mouret), shoes (Calvin Klein, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Roberto Cavalli), bags (Balmain, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch) and scarves (Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, Roberto Cavalli, Yves Saint Laurent). We wore them last summer, we are wearing them this winter and, weather permitting, we shall be wearing them as of Sunday, when spring officially starts. more »

I was giving my daughter her supper this evening when the 7 o'clock News on Channel 4 opened with the sad news of the death of Alexander McQueen. My jaw just dropped in disbelief. The latest edition of the London Fashion Week opened last Friday to celebrate 25 years of British fashion. The six-day event consisted fifty womenswear and six menswear collections, as well as designer presentations, exhibitions such as ‘Hat: An Anthology’ at the V&A, and of course the Central Saint Martins show, a must-see for talent scouts. more »
